A major activity in the project is full-scale tests of a section of the Guadalajara test site on Madrid-Zaragoza high speed line. The 21 m long track box is constructed and filled up with the same material used to build up section S2 in the Guadalajara site. Figures 1 and 2 show the filling and compaction operations at the subballast and ballast levels.

In the course of filling the box, the necessary tests are performed to control the placement conditions (density and water content) and sensors are placed at different levels below the track. Figure 3 presents a layout of the track box at two instrumented sections. Figure 4 shows the testing zones and the results of compaction control by means of the SASW test.

Static and dynamic tests are performed using the load application system (servo-hydraulic jacks). Figures 5, 6 and 7 show different views of the track box.
